The Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) and the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) are announcing the UVCA Challenge: CES Edition 2018, which will be held in September 2018 in Kyiv (Kiev).
The ten best startups, up from eight teams last year, will receive the opportunity to exhibit for free at the Ukrainian Expo of the International Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in early January 2018.
Last month Mobile Beach Conference, which presents itself as Europe’s biggest mobile marketing event, held its third edition in Odessa, southern Ukraine.
Some 1,000 attendees from 29 countries participated in the event, which targeted marketers, app developers, startupers, investors, advertisers and publishers.
The fifth edition of the ITEM conference will be held in Dnipro (a city of Central Ukraine formerly known as Dnipropetrovsk) on June 17-18. More than 1,000 developers, project managers and top managers of IT companies from all over Ukraine are expected to attend.
Local and international speakers will share their experience in running a successful IT business in Ukraine.
Later this month Kyiv (Kiev) will play host to the tenth edition of Kyiv Outsourcing Forum 2017, one of the largest IT outsourcing business event in Ukraine. The forum gathers owners and top managers of outsourcing companies as well as freelancers from all over Ukraine.
Over 70 local and international speakers will participate in the conference.
Already recognized for their engineering excellence, several countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) are now emerging on the global startup scene.
Thus for the past couple of years Belarus, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine and some other countries of the region have seen their local companies assert themselves on the international market, raise considerable funding and/or be acquired by global companies.
Developers from Ukraine and other Eastern European countries are invited to a 48-hour international hackathon to develop new IT solutions for the aviation and travel industries. Hacker Games Pro: Aviation will be held at Vilnius Tech Park on April 28-30. More than 100 participants are expected.
Teams will work either independently or in cooperation with travel and aviation experts, entrepreneurs and other mentors. At the end of the hackathon, participants will pitch their projects to a board of jury.
On April 22-23, a 24-hour hackathon devoted to innovative IT solutions in education will be held in Kharkiv (Kharkov), Eastern Ukraine. Participants will pitch to the representatives of Ukrainian tech universities, IT business and venture funds to compete for a 30,000 hryvnia award (approximately $1,100).
Christened “IT-Eureka! Ukraine,” the event will attract Ukrainian student teams, which will create a prototype based on their ideas with support from mentors.
On March 29, Kyiv (Kiev) will play host to the first edition of ChatBot Conference UA, an international conference dedicated to chatbots. The event will bring together major local and foreign industry experts. Entrepreneurs, officials, investors and other professionals are also invited.
Live chat is claimed to increase conversion by 5-10 times. Chatbots, which are considered the main e-commerce trend in 2017, will replace applications and become a regular channel for interaction between companies and clients soon, believe the organizers of the conference.
eSPORTconf UAH, which presents itself as Ukraine’s first eSports business conference, will be held on February 22 in Kyiv (Kiev). The event will bring together entrepreneurs and investors, as well as representatives of the gaming and gambling industry in Ukraine and other Russian-speaking countries.
Ukraine is among the top six countries with the most developed eSports industry. This market grows by 50% every year, according to Smile Expo, the organizer of the event.
Ukrainian teams invited to apply to leading European B2B startup acclerator and receive €20,000 (deadline: Jan 31)
Early stage B2B startups from Ukraine and other Eastern European countries are invited to apply for a three-month Startup Wise Guys acceleration program, which will take place this spring in Tallinn.
Twenty-five pre-selected teams will participate in three-day finals on February 20-22 in Tallinn. The program will include more than 20 one-on-one mentor and investor meetings, as well as business training.
